Helping Hands — Hand-Trace Sign Art

Steps: First — a grown-up traces your hand on paper (or you press your hand flat and they draw around it). Then — color each finger a different color, your choice. Then — with the grown-up, copy three friendly signs from the lesson (hello, thank you, friend) and draw a small picture of each sign next to a finger. Last — hold your real hand up next to your paper hand and do the signs together.

Gentle Sounds — Quiet Sound Makers

Steps: First — choose a quiet sound to make: rice in a closed cup (soft shake), a spoon tapped on a pillow, hands rubbing together. Then — make your sound maker with the grown-up. Then — practice: loud is not allowed in this game — only soft, softer, softest. Last — use your sound maker to play "copy my soft sound" back and forth.

Fingerprint Detective Card

Steps: First — shade a patch of pencil lead dark on scrap paper. Then — rub one fingertip in the patch and press it onto a piece of clear tape or straight onto your card. Then — look at your print with a magnifier or phone zoom: find loops, whorls, or arches like the lesson shows. Last — print all five fingers, label the card with the date, and file it in your school folder.
